Accessibility statement.

Last updated 6 September 2026. Questions: abid@keporia.ca.

A loyalty card should work for every customer who walks into a shop, and the website that sells it should work for every owner who wants one. This statement says what we have done, what we test, what we know is imperfect, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

What we aim for

keporia.ca and the customer-facing pages of card.keporia.ca (sign-up, "add to wallet", the counter page) are built to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Newfoundland and Labrador's Accessibility Act (2021) sets the direction for businesses in the province and we treat AA as the floor, not the target.

What is in place

  • Keyboard. Every link, button, menu and form field can be reached and used with the keyboard alone, in a sensible order, with a clearly visible focus ring. There is a "skip to content" link at the top of every page.
  • Screen readers. Every page has one main heading and a logical heading order; every image has a text alternative; decorative icons are hidden from assistive technology; every form field has a visible label tied to it; the menu button announces whether it is open.
  • Colour and contrast. All text meets the AA contrast ratio (4.5:1) against its background, and no information is carried by colour alone. Card mock-ups are illustrations; the real card is drawn by Apple or Google to their own accessibility rules.
  • Motion. Animations respect your system's "reduce motion" setting and stop when it is on.
  • Zoom and small screens. Pages reflow to a phone-width screen and to browser zoom without horizontal scrolling. Nothing requires a mouse hover.
  • Forms. Required fields are marked in text as well as with a symbol; the contact form uses standard fields so browsers and password managers can fill them; the browser shows a text message beside any field that needs attention.
  • Plain language. We write in short sentences and say what things cost and do not do.

The counter and the sign-up page

The page a customer opens from a shop's QR code asks for one thing, a first name, in one large field, and offers one large button to add the card. The staff counter page works on a phone or tablet, with large buttons and a text alternative to the camera (typing the member number). Both are built to be read by VoiceOver and TalkBack; if either misbehaves on your phone, tell us and we will fix it.

What we know is not perfect

  • The animated phone mock-ups on the home page are decorative and hidden from screen readers; the text beside them says what they show. With "reduce motion" on they are still.
  • The wallet card itself is rendered by Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. Its accessibility is theirs; we keep the card's text short and high-contrast so it reads well in both.
  • The owner dashboard and Keporia's own operator pages are used by a handful of people and get less testing than the customer pages. They are keyboard-usable and labelled, but if you use assistive technology and something there gets in your way, we want to know.

How we check

Automated checks (heading order, alternative text, labels, contrast, focus visibility) run on every version of the site before it is published, and every page is walked with the keyboard alone. The most recent full review was on 6 September 2026.

Tell us

If any part of this site or the loyalty-card service does not work with your keyboard, screen reader, magnifier or other assistive technology, email abid@keporia.ca or call 709-660-9874. Say which page and what happened. You will hear back within one business day and, where we can fix it, it will be fixed in the next version of the site.
